American Style called Tribal: this is a fusion of styles modeled after ATS (American Tribal Style), ITS (Improvisational Tribal Style), and WFT (World Fusion Tribal). This unique form of Tribal belly dance is a group oriented dance style, utilizing “cues” for non-verbal communication between dancers, while improvising your dance to music. Belly Dance in any form improves your posture, strengthens your back muscles, tones your abdominal muscles, as well as toning your arms and legs. And, lets face it, its pure enjoyment to get out and dance! You do not need any prior belly dance or any other dance experience to participate. Do a fantastic thing for your body and yourself and try belly dance. |
What style do we teach? |

Belli-ez…. Muscle toning and isolations, stretching & cardio class. Uses a variety of bellydance movements to increase your flexibility, tone your muscles, add suppleness to your spine and improve your posture. Not only is it good for you, it’s FUN!
Basic Tribal Bellydance… Following the format and guidelines set for for American Tribal Style Bellydance, this class will introduce you to the basic ATS vocabulary and movements. Learn to dance improve wherever ATS is found, worldwide. You will also be introduced to varied “tribal” music and rhythms.
Bellydance performance…. Will learn variety of movements from various bellydance styles and create several choreographies. This class WILL PERFORM at the Reflections In Dance annual performances. |

Bring a big smile, a yoga mat if you have one (if not, we have ones you may borrow) and a desire to learn. Suggestions for what to wear: Pants: Exercise, dance or harem pants Top: Choli, fitted Tee or discreet sports bra (if you wanna show your belly!) · If you choose to wear a hip scarf, please refrain from coins. · Clothing requests are specific to allow the instructor to view body alignment. Don’t be shy– all body types are beautiful! |
